CRASH. The sound of lightning above sent squeals and screams throughout the nursery. Most kits were terrified of lightning, and thunder tended to be the worst of it all. She was no exception, but in her panicked state, she ran straight from the nursery and into the Medicine cat's den, before exitting that as well. The rain soaked her fur quickly, and Butterflykit found that she stood their shaking, trembling really, in fear and because she was cold. A rumble of thunder began above, and the kit hit the ground, hiding her head underneath her paws, and letting out a whimper of fear. What was wrong with her, why was she such a scaredy cat? After all, she had been through so much, she should have been braver. More than most of these warriors had been through in their entire lifes. But it didn't matter, did it? All that mattered was that she was here now, and that no one understood what it was like to be all alone. That no one understood how hard it was to be a kit when no one could love you, would love you, and then you were suddenly thrusted into a new world.
A hushed silence echoed in her ears, and she looked up, the skies were lightening, but only a little. The rain had stopped, and clouds were slowly rolling away. It was over! And now, she could play! But with who? Heatherpaw was out training, and her brother, Mousekit, was asleep, and she knew best not to wake him, because he got cranky when he was awakened merely to play. As for Shrewkit... well he was just always cranky, especially toward her. It was like he was hating her for what happened to them. And it wasn't her fault that they had been taken from their family. Had it? No, of course not, that would be crazy. She couldn't blame herself. It truly wasn't her fault, after all.
