Admin note...
&&. You'll notice that A Warrior's Fate has extremely brief and simple rules. Please understand that this does not mean the staff are lax or that "anything goes". It is just simple. The admins have been threading for a combined 11 years. Some behaviors are not tolerated on any self-respecting RPG. Not thoroughly and exhaustingly covering each topic does not provide any member with an excuse for breaking the rules. If, at some point, it is required for any information regarding member expectation to be added, the power to PM the masses will be utilized.
Concerning general behavior...
&&. First and foremost, one must remember the basics of respect not simply to the staff but to one another. No form of intolerance or discrimination based on gender-identity, religion, race, sex, physique, or sexual orientation will be sanctioned. The first infringement will be dealt with harshly. The second will result in the convicted being banned permanently from A Warrior's Fate. Discrimination based on sports teams, writing style, and general personality, however, are completely fair game. If someone writes in present tense and refuses to make an exception for you, don't thread with him.
&&. Since we require that every character has his or her own account, and such account is required to have the name of the character in the Display Name, every member must have an alias. This is the OOC name you will use in such universal branches of A Warrior's Fate as the CBox. You are not allowed to change this alias without express written permission from an administrator.
Concerning writing...
&&. Many sites have a word count minimum that each member must reach for every post. After much deliberation, we have decided to not thrust this restriction around our members. However, we do ask that thought and work be put into threads. Chatspeak, as always, is unacceptable in an In-Character post. Proper grammar and spelling are preferred at all times. Do keep in mind that if you are notorious for posting a little as possible, or posting entirely more than anyone would ever want to sit and read, other members are entitled to refrain from threading with you. 250-700 words in a post, provided the post has decent quality and isn't simply made up of random trains of thought, is usually a good window to attempt to fit in. As for the tense of your In-Character writing, again it depends on your threading partners. Some people do not appreciate reading present verbs, but we will not make it mandatory to write in the past tense.
Concerning characters...
&&. You've probably read this a thousand and one times; no one is perfect. Do not model your character after a god. It will not be accepted. No one has that much power in a single body. We read biographies before accepting the character. If something isn't right, the character will not be added to the Allegiances until such concerns are properly addressed. Also, if a character is accepted and acts entirely too powerful In-Character or controls another member's character, the staff reserve the right to ensure the cat joins his ancestors in Silverpelt or arrange for a suitably humbling situation to occur. You are welcome to stylize the Account name in any way you wish, as long as the name of the character is completely visible.
&&. A single member may only hold one high rank at a time. High ranks are Leader, Deputy, Medicine Cat, and Medicine Cat Apprentice. Characters on A Warrior's Fate age naturally. Every moon sees each cat a month older. With the harsh life of a Warrior, few live to see 60 moons and those that do are ready to retire to the Elders' Den. Characters are considered abandoned once they have gone a full month without a single IC post or Leave of Absence. They are removed from any rank they hold immediately and auditions reopen.
&&. The Warrior Code is a list of guidelines Clan cats are supposed to follow. They are broken regularly. Punishments for such incursions are given at the discretion of the Leaders. Kits born between Clans will automatically belong to the Dam's Clan. However, if a surrogate mother can be found in the Sire's Clan, they may be transferred at two weeks old.
Concerning ProBoards terms of service...
&&. This RPG is hosted by ProBoards and is therefor subject to the ProBoards Terms of Service. It states that the site must be rated PG-13 or lower. Under this rule, cursing is allowed to an extent. Saying the word "fuck" once per sentence is incredibly unbecoming and does not meet the standard. Graphic breeding, while being rather disgusting, is also unacceptable. Blood and gore in a post needs to be kept to a manageable level. This site is based on the Warrior's Saga by Erin Hunter. Everything in the books would pass for PG-13 or lower. Basically, you don't have to worry as long as you're not that one girl who posts naked pictures of herself. This rule is directed at her.
